General Questions to Ask When Planning a New Building
|
- Will your building be safe or could it be a safety hazard to yourself or others in the community?
- Does your plan for your new building conform to the applicable building code?
- Is your new building going to fit in its neighborhood or could it be viewed as an "eyesore" by some or possibly bring down property values?
- Will your new building help protect or endanger community resources, such as water and air?
- Could your proposed development be a costly burden for the community to provide services (i.e., utilities, emergency medical services, etc.)?
- Have you looked at your community's Master Plan? Is your new building consistent with the community's vision for the area where you propose to build?
