Commission on Aging Board
The Advisory Board of the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging and the Commission on Aging Department
will have community forums for the purpose of increased awareness, linkage and advocacy among the many public and private entities that offer services to County seniors.
The forums also support enhancement of our relationship with other organizations through ongoing dialogue.
It is an opportunity for everyone to learn what other agencies are doing and to collectively hear from members of the public, and the organizations that serve them, what the current and emerging senior needs might be.
Specifically, information on the following topics will be sought:
• management of chronic disease and continuum of care issues among the elderly
• fall prevention and injury avoidance
• community-based aging-in-place initiatives
• prevention efforts to minimize elder exploitation
• physical and mental wellness and healthy lifestyle
There will be several public forums, and other outreach efforts underway, that are intended to
increase mutual understanding among agencies so the senior population and their caregivers will be better served.
**Charlevoix County Commission on Aging Public Forum Review Meeting:
Monday, March 29, 2010, 9:30am - 11:30 am
in the Charlevoix County Building-Pine Lake Room **
The Commission on Aging Board meets the 3rd Monday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Meetings will be held in the Pine Lake Room (basement level) at the Charlevoix County Building, unless otherwise posted.
