PUBLIC HEARING HELD - PROPOSED NEW ZONING ORDINANCE
The Evangeline Township Planning Commission held a public hearing on April 15, 2008 to take public comment on the proposed new Evangeline Township Zoning Ordinance, which includes proposed changes to the text of the ordinance.
After the public hearing and further discussion, the Township Planning Commission recommended approval of the proposed zoning ordinance with changes to the version proposed at the public hearing. The next step in the approval process is for the County Planning Commission to review and provide a recommendation on the proposed ordinance. This will take place at the County Planning Commission meeting on May 1, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Pine Lake Room (located in the basement) at the Charlevoix County Building. This meeting is open to the public, and all who wish to attend are invited. During their review of the ordinance, the County Planning Commission will accept public comments.
The last step in the approval process will be for the Township Board to approve or deny the proposed ordinance or they may send it back to the Township Planning Commission for more changes, if needed.
